- Why We Worship
"WORSHIP, WITH REVERENCE AND AWE" begins here! The best worship transports us, enabling us to experience on earth what is happening in heaven as we praise God. To experience that more, we must learn from Scripture why we worship.
- Sunday Morning Worship
What are your Sunday mornings like? As we look back at the first Sunday morning worship ever, we will find in Jesus joy for our days.
- Every Day Worship
If you "worship everyday", is Sunday really that big a deal? It is if you do it God's way: that assembly launches you into a week of every day devotion.
- Holy, Holy, Holy
Would you like to see Heaven? No matter what is going on in our lives, every time we worship is an opportunity for us to be transported there.
- Worthy is the Lamb!
When we bring the right heart to it with our focus on Jesus, worship allows us to experience heaven on earth.
- Experiencing God's Presence
Worship is so much more than an obligation to fulfill. With the right heart, it presents a wonderful opportunity for God’s people to experience His presence in life-changing ways.
- Where We Worship
God didn’t ask for a temple: He just chose to meet us there because we wanted one. While it is easier for us to see the physical, it is important that where we worship doesn’t distract from Who we are worshipping.
- Destroy This Place
Sometimes the most difficult issues a church faces has to do with its building. We must not repeat past mistakes of being so focused on a physical temple that we end up opposing what God is doing.
- God With Us
God doesn’t live in a temple made by human hands. Thanks to Jesus, we see clearly that He lives with us.
- You are God's Temple
Want to see a beautiful church? Don’t look at the building. Look for people who are worshipping God, following Jesus, and indwelt by the Spirit together.
- How We Worship
Even among believers, it is not uncommon to argue over worship. When we learn from Jesus how to worship, God's presence changes us.
- In Spirit and Truth
Sometimes the biggest impediment to meaningful worship is the baggage we bring with us. Learn from Jesus where to put your focus, and everything changes.
- With Thankfulness and Submission
When we actively participate in worship with thankful and submissive hearts, God fills us up with His Spirit.
- Decently and In Order
Even if God's given you a gift, it is important that you don't use it the wrong way. His gifts are meant for building others up, and only in ways that are decent and orderly like He is.
- With Reverence and Awe
Every worship service is special once you learn to see Christ's unshakeable kingdom. Are you ready to gratefully worship with reverence and awe?
- Scripture and Worship
Scripture has always had a big role in Christian worship. From the Sunday Jesus rose to now, having our minds opened to understand the Scriptures leads to joy and blessing.
- Let the Word Dwell Richly
Our experience of God’s Word all throughout our worship can change our lives - if we let it.
- Strengthening the Disciples
When the apostles preached at church assemblies, the response they were aiming for was different than what we often look for: those sermons were to strengthen the disciples.
- Training for Godliness
Some of us prefer meaty sermons on doctrine. Others like something heavy on life application. Yet, true gospel preaching isn’t either/or: the preaching of sound doctrine changes our lives, starting now.
- Preach the Word
Do you remember a time when a sermon you heard had a big impact on you? It might not look like we expect, but God gives power to the preaching of His word.
- Do This in Remembrance of Me
The Lord's Supper is the act of worship Jesus Himself directly commanded His followers to participate in. As we see what He instituted it to be, we will begin to recognize the wonderful opportunity it is for us.
- A Feast to the LORD
Understanding the Lord's Supper's roots in the Jewish Feast of the Passover will shift our focus and deepen our appreciation for the bread, the cup, and the Christ they represent.
- Participating in Christ’s Body and Blood
For followers of Jesus, the Lord’s Supper is special. When we learn to fully participate, it becomes something we will not want to miss.
- As Often as You Eat
Lots of things can keep us from experiencing the Lord’s Supper the way we should. When through it we refocus on Jesus, our lives will change.
- Marriage Supper of the Lamb
Worship - and especially the Lord’s Supper - is a bit of heaven on earth. To experience that, we have to approach it less like a funeral and more like a wedding.
- Devoted to Prayer
Jesus' earliest disciples truly devoted themselves to prayer when they were together. Learning to pray like they did will leave us shook.
- Earnest Prayer
Amazing things happen when Christians come together to earnestly pray.
- Sent Off with Prayer
Our worship assemblies become launching pads for incredible kingdom work when we really get praying.
- The Great Power of Prayer
It’s when we’re struggling that we need worship the most. We experience God’s great power working when we pray in a vulnerable way together.
- He Hears Us
Your prayers matter: the words we lift reach God’s own throne.
- Join the Song
For as long as people have been worshipping God, they have been doing it with singing. We need to join the song: God fills us with His Spirit when we do.
- Sing with Your Heart
God wants us to bring all that we are to Him in worship - including our emotions. By inspiring the book of Psalms, He has provided a way for us to faithfully express ourselves to Him no matter what we are feeling.
- Sing to the LORD
Singing in worship not only expresses our emotions, it brings them to God to be shaped into who He wants us to be.
- Many Parts
You don’t have to be a great singer to sing in worship. God is glorified and people are built up when our voices blend together.
- Sing a New Song
Across three different pictures in Revelation, singing is the response to God’s greatness. As we learn to sing that new song, worship gives us some of heaven on earth.
- Coming to Give
If you worshipped with the first century Christians, you didn't assemble for what you got out of it: you came on Sunday to give.
- Cheerful Givers
Our world is focused on getting. Rather than bring that into the church, our giving is an opportunity to change our perspective.
- Better Things
When it comes to worship, we easily fall into focusing on our physical environment or the steps in our rituals. Jesus makes it possible for us to focus on better things.
- Something to Consider
"I just don't get anything out of it." When a self-professed Christian won't come to worship God, this is a common reason given. Yet if we will really consider why we worship, God will give us a focus that will make every assembly meaningful.
- Worship God
In the end, it all leads here: worship God. Glimpsing how we will do that in eternity can shape how we experience life and worship right now.
